ArtBeat is a specially designed pen grip for children aged 4 to 6 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), used during Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT) therapy sessions. As children draw, ArtBeat non-invasively tracks their Heart Rate Variability (HRV), a key indicator of stress.
If the HRV rises too high, the lights on the heart display change from green to red lights, alerting the therapist that the child may be experiencing stress and may need extra support or redirection.
More than just a monitoring tool, ArtBeat also encourages collaborative drawing between children and their parents, fostering emotional connection and shared experiences during therapy.
